Nanoplasty — What You Need To Know Before You Book
Based on 30 years of hairdressing experience and 3,000+ keratin & smoothing treatments.
I saw on floractive.com.au that Nanoplasty is a “Hair Straightening System.” Will it straighten my hair?
This is the most common misconception — and it’s a marketing problem, not yours. Nanoplasty is a smoothing and frizz-removal treatment. It will not give you permanently straight hair. Even Floractive’s own product instructions quietly admit: “The hair will still have waves and curls, only the frizz will be reduced.” Any “straightening” result comes from aggressive flat-ironing, not the product itself — and that approach damages the hair.
What will Nanoplasty actually do for my hair?
Here is what it genuinely delivers:
- Removes frizz — 100%, permanently
- Eliminates the zigzag pattern in the hair shaft — permanently
- Softens and relaxes curls — saves you ¾ of your daily prep time
- Leaves hair smooth, healthy and manageable
- Changes the hair from a positive (frizzy) state to a negative (smooth) state
Will my curls be gone after the treatment?
No. Nanoplasty weakens and relaxes curls but does not eliminate them. If you have curly hair, you will still have curl — just softer, smoother, and far more manageable. Anyone promising to “burn the curl out” with extreme heat is damaging your hair, not treating it. After 30 years in this industry, that is not something I will ever do.
Floractive says it’s “non-toxic” and “safe for pregnant women.” Is it safe?
Why does Floractive call it a straightener if it isn’t one?
“Straightener” sells better than “smoothing treatment.” Independent peer-reviewed science and experienced hairdressers consistently describe Nanoplasty as a semi-permanent smoothing system. Floractive’s own websites contradict themselves — some claim results last 8 months, others say 12, and their US site even claims it’s “permanent.” The straightening effect comes from the flat iron, not the formula. I have contacted Floractive directly requesting they update their marketing language.
Do I need to come in with clean, freshly washed hair?
come in with clean hair very well rinsed
No. With Nanoplasty, do not wash your hair before your appointment. This product works best without any trace of shampoo in the hair shaft. Unlike other treatments, I will assess and prepare your hair myself on the day.
How long do results last?
Realistically, 3 to 5 months depending on your hair type, how often you wash, and the products you use after the service. Coarser or curlier hair may fade faster. Results also improve with repeat treatments over time.
What should I expect on the day?
The treatment takes approximately 2.5 to 4 hours depending on your hair length and density. You will leave with smooth, shiny, manageable hair. The frizz will be gone immediately. Your curl pattern will be softened. You will not leave with poker-straight hair — and that is a good thing. Your hair will be healthy.
I found this service on Groupon. Will I get the same result as a full-price salon?
Results vary enormously depending on the technician’s experience, the correct Floractive formula for your hair type (the blonde and brown formulas perform very differently), and precise application technique. Always ask how many treatments your technician has completed. With over 3,000 treatments performed, I can give you an honest, experienced assessment before we begin.
